Thailand’s Songkran celebrations will go ahead this year but with a strict ‘no water splashing’ rule.
The annual water splashing festival which marks the Thai new year was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
With falling cases and the vaccine roll out underway, ministers believe Songkran 2021 will be safe. However, the traditional water fights and splashing have been banned.
