Police were today hunting a Thai woman and her boyfriend after they walked around Bangkok while using a remote-controlled sex toy in her knickers.
Footage of the ‘sex toy prank’ sparked outrage after it emerged last week during the country’s Covid-19 restrictions.
At the start of the six-minute long video, the young woman in a short dress is seen sitting in a car before being handed a small remote-operated ‘egg’ by the cameraman which she puts into her underwear.
The man then activates the device while they walk down the street, take a tuk tuk ride, visit a fruit stall at a market, go shopping for beer and eat lunch at a cafe.
Police Colonel Siriwat Deepor said they had received complaints about the video and have identified the woman involved. She is reportedly a model.
Colonel Deepor said officers are now waiting for the model to hand herself in to assist with the investigation.
The pair may face action under public obscenity laws and for violating the country’s Computer Crimes Act by posting the video online. The act carries jail terms of up to five years and a maximum fine of 100,000 baht.
Police Colonel Siriwat Deepor said: “We have invited the woman in the video to give her testimony at the station before we decide on the charges and how to proceed.
“Initially, her behaviour appeared to be on the verge of violating the Computer Crime Act as they have put pornographic related content into the public domain.”
