A bisexual glamour model has revealed how she was struck down with a chronic illness and now works – as a FORTUNE TELLER.
Yoko Takano, 41, starred in dozens of films before she was picked up to model swimsuits and pose for Penthouse magazine.
But in May 2014 she was rushed to hospital with agonising symptoms from a disease known as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
She was pumped full of so many drugs that she suffered kidney failure – leading to severe memory loss and damage to her nervous system.
But the half-Thai half-Japanese star has fought back after more than two years of sickness and now gives oracle card readings at high-ends shopping malls and on TV in Bangkok, Thailand.
Yoko said: ”I didn’t plant to leave the entertainment industry but I became ill. I got cysts and stomach ache and I started to forget scripts and faint at work.
‘After having treatment for cervical disease, I still felt numb in my fingers. It was from the neuropathy disease.
”I was shocked and tried to find out what had happened to me. They gave me too many drugs, I overdosed and had kidney failure.
”After waking up couldn’t remember anything, not even who I am. I thought that I was an eight-year-old girl.”
Yoko’s body swelled from steroids and her weight increased to around 70kg. She was bedridden and became depressed – unable to work or remember old friends.
But looking in the mirror one day she suddenly thought ”you are beautiful” and she set about exercising, quitting smoking and eating healthily.
Yoko dug out old swimsuit modelling pictures and copies of her shoots in Penthouse that she had forgotten about, and some memories slowly returned.
She began ”positive thinking” and seeking the services of clairvoyants who advised her to try her hand at fortune telling.
Yoko now gives Tarot card readings – but is still searching for the love of her life after separating from a previous girlfriend.
She said: ”I can remember my love life. I was bisexual. I knew about this from a long time ago. I had a girlfriend but it didn’t work out.
”I don’t have anyone yet. I am ill and can’ look after myself yet. But if someone liked to look after me, it would be nice.
”I’m happy doing fortune telling. I never expected it, I was waiting for another acting job or another direction. But many people have told me that I should do this as I’m good at it.
”It’s good helping other people and it also helps me, too.”
