There were reports last week that a British man had been rescued after falling down a waterfall on Koh Samui and spending three nights there. Well, it turns out that guy was Paul Nicholls, an actor who starred in the bBC soap Eastenders several years ago.
He’s played different roles since. But that’s actually what he’s best known for, despite it only being for one year.
Oh, and he also dealt with an addiction to crack cocaine in 2015 when he was filmed taking the drug at a friend’s house.
You have to admire his bravery and resilience though. Spending three days stuck at the bottom of Khun Si falls in Koh Samui with a broken leg.
The heat, mosquitoes, lack of food, water, fresh clothes, the pain from the shattered knee cap. It’s like a real-life drama.
Paul Nicholls, we salute salute you. What a dude.
He told the Sun: ”I am lucky to be alive.
”I had a phone with me but I fell from such a height into the water it was unretrievable.
”It took such a long time to find me. It’s an understatement to say it wasn’t a great situation. It wasn’t that I was lost.
”The problem was I couldn’t move to get out of there.
”I’ve got a broken leg and I’m missing a kneecap. It needs complete reconstruction.”
