LGBT prisoners in Thailand’s jails are to be given their own correctional facility.
The heady mix of lesbians, ladyboys and gay men will be housed together in order to avoid bullying from male inmates.
Under the new policy, LGBT inmates will be locked up together at the Min Buri Prison, according to the Bangkok Post.
Kobkiat Kasiwiwat, the deputy permanent secretary for justice, said that if the pilot scheme was successful it could be rolled out nationally.
There are 4,448 LGBT prisoners in Thailand, including 2,258 females, 2,156 males and 34 transgender people.
