A giant fire rainbow looms ominously over the evening sky in Bangkok yesterday.
The rare phenomenon – known as a circumhorizontal arc – was caused by sunlight reflecting through tiny ice crystals suspended in clouds at around 5pm.
Dozens of onlookers took pictures of the sight as the rainbow appeared over the city shortly before nightfall.
Nitipoom Panthong said: ‘’It was beautiful but also a little bit scary also. It happened just before evening time.
‘’I’ve never seen anything like it before. Nature is a wonderful thing.”
