When it comes to murders in Thailand, this one has to be one of the most cold-blooded.
Masked-men burst into the home of a village leader in Krabi and held his wife, daughters and other relatives hostage.
Then when the head of the household Vorayut Sanglang returned he was handcuffed, blindfolded and finally at around midnight the whole family were shot. Eleven in total.
They included Vorayut’s wife, three daughters, two brothers, inlaws and his three-year-old niece.
Pictures taken by the police showed pools of blood inside the bungalow and corpses spread out on the ground.
Three of the other family members are in critical condition in hospital.
Pol Capt Suwit Kaewpreecha, deputy chief investigator at Ao Luk said two men, two women and two girls were found dead inside the property.
Vorayut and another of his daughters were later pronounced dead. A woman and two girls were in hospital today in a critical condition.
Officers have now launched a man hunt to find the murderers. They believe the motive was some kind of personal or land dispute.
