This haunting CCTV image is said to show backpacker Elise Dallemagne’s final moments yards from where her body was found on ‘’death island’’.
The grainy black and white shot shows the back of a woman walking down a concrete path on Koh Tao, Thailand, on April 21.
Police claim the image was taken at 9.03am outside the Poseidon Resort as as Elise bought a speedboat ticket to travel later three days later at 2.30pm.
It is not known what happened to the pretty medical science graduate between then and April 24 when she is said to have hanged herself. Her body was found 200 metres from the place on the CCTV among rocks behind the Family Tanote Bay Resort on April 27.
Speaking for the first time since the death was reported, Elise’s mother Michele van Egten said the woman in the image appears too big to be her daughter.
She said: ”That’s not Elise’s silhouette, she was much slimmer, that’s not the way she was walking.’’
Michele is now due to meet with Belgian authorities including Belgian police on Monday at the Embassy of Belgium in Bangkok.
Michelle said also disputes Thai police’s ‘’attempts to discredit’’ her daughter by claiming she had previously attempted suicide.
For now, the case continues… but whether Elise’s family ever get the answers they deserve is another matter
