American Tourist Arrested In Cambodia Over Meth Lab

An American tourist has been arrested after hotel staff found a METH LAB in his room.

Andrew Steven Morrow, 36, had been staying at a guesthouse in Phnom Penh when staff became suspicious.

Police who raided his room on Sunday discovered 0.18 grammes of crystal methamphetamine, scales, glass pipes and other paraphernalia.

The bearded backpacker was charged with using and possessing drugs.

He appeared at Phnom Penh Municipal Court before being remanded in custody while officers continue investigating.

Anti-drugs police officer Ly Sarith said: ”He was arrested while he was smoking drugs in the guesthouse room.

‘’According to the charges and the weight of drugs seized from him, he faces one to two years in prison if convicted.’’

He is due to appear agin before the court later this month while police investigate if he has links to other suppliers in the area.
